Help with Convo — Live Transcribe & Talk
How the app works
- Tap to Speak: the other person talks and their words appear live on the board. Tap again to stop.
- Type and Play: tap the board, write your message and press Play — the app reads it aloud while the board flips toward the other person, highlighting each word as it's spoken.
- Flip button: turns the board toward either side of the table at any time.
Frequently asked questions
The microphone doesn't work
Open iOS Settings → Convo and make sure both Microphone and Speech Recognition are enabled. The app also shows a shortcut to these settings when permissions are missing.
Transcription is in the wrong language
Choose the voice language from the home screen (the flag button). The same language is used for transcription and for the spoken voice.
The voice is too fast or too slow
Open the app's Settings (gear icon) and adjust the speed slider, then use Preview Voice to hear the result.
The text is too small to read across the table
Use the Font −/+ controls under the board, or pinch directly on the board. The size is remembered.
Does it work offline?
Text-to-speech works offline. Live transcription may require an internet connection on some devices and languages, since it uses Apple's speech recognition.
